Values Voters Debate – Monday, September 17, 2007
Well, the Values Voters Debate for the Republican Presidential Candidates is set for Monday, September 17 … finding information about this event though is not the easiest thing to do. Here’s what I have gleaned from my search so far:
- It is not being carried on any mainstream media (are we surprised?) …
- It will be live-streamed over the internet on the following websites:
- American Family Association
- VCY America
- Sky Angel (but only for subscribers to their satellite service)
- Six Republicans have confirmed their attendance at this event:
- Mike Huckabee
- Sam Brownback
- Duncan Hunter
- Ron Paul
- Tom Tancredo
- John Cox (of Illinois … his only debate invitation, I believe)
- The Democrats were invited, but they all declined
- According to the Brody File (CBN) the other Republicans gave the following reasons for not attending the debate:
- Giuliani – scheduling and fundraising demands
- Romney – scheduling
- Thompson – no response
- McCain is not mentioned in any of the information I have read, so I don’t know if he’ll be there (it’s not on his schedule on his website)
I encourage you to listen on one of the websites above and to get others to listen as well. This debate will allow for the discussion of issues beyond the Iraq war. I fully expect Mike Huckabee to shine in this forum, I’m just not sure how many people will be listening, and that is truly a shame.
To my fellow Bloggers for Huckabee, we all need to cover this event and get the word out before and after. These will be very important issues to the conservative Christian base of the GOP and we need to get the word out.
Peace everybody …
Kerry

I have posted about this as well. You are right. We need to get the word out.
