Huckabee in 3rd Place Nationally
Rasmussen Poll numbers released today, show that former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee has moved into 3rd place nationally.
11/6/07
- Giuliani 24% (24%, 21%).
- No change last 7 days. +3% last 30 days.
- Thompson 16% (17%, 22%)
- -1% last 7 days. -6% last 30 days.
- Huckabee 14% (12%, 5%)
- +2% last 7 days. +9% last 30 days.
- McCain 13% (12%, 10%)
- +1% last 7 days. +3% last 30 days.
- Romney 11% (14%, 15%)
- -3% last 7 days. -4% last 30 days.
My thoughts on this:
- Giuliani is treading water.
- Thompson is going under.
- McCain keeps bouncing back and hanging in there.
- Romney, losing ground.
- Huckabee, consistent upward trend.
I know there are people who don’t like tracking polls, who don’t like Rasmussen, who don’t like national polls. Please spare me the education again. I am taking this as an interesting snapshot – especially when you consider where each of these candidates were polling nationally 30 days ago. There are obvious trends and visible momentum (forward or backward).

I think you’re right … I’m not a big poll-watcher, but the trends show something, anyway.
This definitely says something. On the local North Carolina talk show this morning, Mike Huckabee actually had the lead in an informal poll of callers and emailers. Of course this isn’t scientific, but Huckabee supporters were vocal enough to call or email in, while supporters of the other candidates (with the exception of Ron Paul) largely were not.
