North Dakota: Racing the Water
The residents of North Dakota are facing record floods over the next week. As the city of Fargo races to build sandbag dikes to fend off a possible flood of more than 20 feet (two story building), they are also dealing with strong winds, snow, and a wind chill of only 7 degrees!
The National Weather Service has information about the Red River and flood predictions for Fargo, HERE.
For information about how the city of Fargo is facing this impending disaster, go HERE. If you happen to be in that part of the country, it appears that they could use some more help in filling sandbags and building the dikes.
I remember floods in North Dakota several years ago, and there was a terrible fire in Grand Forks that destroyed 11 buildings. Watching that fire in the middle of all that water was incredible. For pictures from the 1997 floods, and updates on how Grand Forks is doing, click HERE.
For now, we need to pray for the residents of North Dakota as they face flood waters that may reach epic proportions.

I can’t imagine what these people are going through. It has to be hard to face such a battle and now they have raised the flood crest estimates.
