Friday Flyer

  • I have been blogging about 2.5 years, and I am still amazed at what topics gain traction. This week it was Peanut Butter and Chicken Sensors.
  • Top searches that bring people to OneMom include: autism; language disorder; water spouts; Mike Huckabee; and Basset Hounds.
  • For the last 6-months we have been carrying very basic, temporary health insurance – one of those “just in case” types of policies. Fortunately, we have not needed it. Next week, my insurance through work will finally kick in. I’ll be paying about 50% of the premium each month, and while it’s a higher cost to me each month than the temporary insurance, it’s much better coverage.
  • Two things I’m looking forward to with our new coverage: new glasses (I have a complicated prescription that can cost $400 just for lenses), and not having to buy my migraine prescription 2 pills at a time (it’s about $260 for 9 headaches).
  • I am very grateful for God’s provision to our family. While there have been many difficulties for us in recent years and even in the changes over the last six months, still He has blessed us abundantly.
  • How has God blessed you recently?

Congratulations on your new insurance plan!

260.00 for 9 migraines. Wow, that is a profitable business!

I, like you, have a very expensive prescription. I am having to save up 700 just to get my eyes rechecked and purchase some new glasses.
    Never a cheap proposal!

You are a living testament to the miraculous provision of God.

You ask a good question about how has God blessed us recently. Two weeks ago this coming Sunday night, Tammy and Randi had a major accident in our van. As heavy as the van was, it managed to go into the air and clear a barb wire fence, landing on the driver’s side. It is truly a miracle that neither of them were hurt badly or killed. I now have several thousand dollars in medical bills and a new vehicle payment, but I also have my wife and daughter to enjoy. I must say, I am blessed.

  3. I was with my Dad when he took his last breath. I ran into his Hospice room, announced, “I am here”, went to kiss his head and heard his last breath. He was waiting for me. I am truly blessed.
    Thank you Lord…

Dear Cat – that is truly a blessing. Of course your dad waited for you – his precious girl. We love you and are praying for you and your mom.
