- A long weekend approaches! Yea!!
- Hurricane season starts on Tuesday. What happens if a hurricane comes through the Gulf of Mexico while all that oil is there?
- I have two political posts I am working on regarding Michigan elections. One will address the seat for Congressional District 1 that Democrat, Bart Stupak is vacating. The other post will take a look at GOP candidates for Governor (so grateful that Jennifer Granholm is term limited). As with most fields of GOP candidates, some are liberals in sheep’s clothing.
- This week we had a Master Gardener come by our house and help us identify what all the plants and flowers are growing in our yard. We actually have some really cool plants the previous owners installed, but there are a few empty places and we will be adding some of my favorites this weekend: spirea bushes, hydrangea (thanks Cat); hostas; geraniums; petunias (not my favorite, but Hannah loves the pretty colors they come in); and a couple of evergreen bushes to add some balance and color to our front steps.

I just found a cartoon that said there was a new category for hurricanes this season, 10w40. I know it’s terrible, but sometimes, you just have to laugh.

Dominique – not beautiful yet, but we’re working on it. While there are already some wonderful plants here, the garden beds had not been tended to in a few years, so there is a lot of cleaning out to do. Once everything is cleaned up and the new plants in place, I’ll get some pictures posted.

Your yard must be beautiful! And the smell! There isn’t anything quite as beautiful as lots of color from plants and flowers, I think.
