Giving Thanks

My initial thought about this post was to write about what I am thankful for, and to ask what you are giving thanks for this last Thursday of November. Then I started wondering where most people in the United States will direct their thankfulness today. For me, to Whom a person is grateful is much more important than the what.

Today, as any day, my thanks go to the One True God, my Savior Jesus Christ. I am grateful to have a Shepherd that loves, cares for, guides me, and protects me. I am safe in His flock and there is no other place for me.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30.

Of course I am thankful to my husband for taking over the domestic and homeschooling responsibilities while I work. I am thankful to Hannah for working so hard on her school work and for being a sweet, obedient little person. The bottom line and all-surrounding thanks that I give, go to God, for without Him, without the salvation through Jesus Christ,  all else is naught.

Happy Thanksgiving.
