Remembering Max
Three years ago today we said goodbye to our precious basset hound, Maxine (aka “Max”). She was the gentlest, softest, most patient hound I have ever known. She was with us just over seven years, and while we hoped for so much more, we are grateful for the time she was part of our family. I still miss her. Below is a slideshow of our beautiful Max.

Oh My Goodness – That made me cry. Max is and was so beautiful. I loved seeing the picture of your Mom. Wow, you only had her 7 years. She must have brought so much love and joy over the years. Thanks for sharing Kerry…..
Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
After Max was spayed she started developing urinary tract infections very often. Despite my efforts to prevent these infections and quick treatment when they occurred, ultimately the scarring and damage created a chronic severe condition that left her in agony and rapid decline. It was so hard to say goodbye to her. The first year of her life, I would put her harness on her and drop her off at my mom’s on my way to work. She loved riding in the car and going to Grammy’s. My mom adored her as well.
Hey OM, thanks for sharing. Emma had a problem with UTIs as a pup but something turned around for her.
I bet she was such a joy for your Mom as well. Max was very lucky to have all of you……

Awww, my screen’s all blurry, OneMom.
See you in heaven, Max. Until then, have fun playing with Tilly and Buddy.

Thanks Jeanette for sharing the story of Tilly. They are precious to us.
I’m so sorry about asking you her name a few weeks ago. I had no idea she was no longer around. I lost my labrador/dalmation cross about a year after you lost Maxine, almost to the date.
No worries Ted. Max was a beautiful, special dog … I love to talk about her. I wouldn’t keep her as my gravatar if it bothered me … she was too beautiful not to share.
Wow. Her life was cut way too short. Poor thing. She was a very beautiful girl. You were lucky to have been able to spent the time you had with her. What great pictures and memories.
