- According to a Pew Research Center poll, 53% of Americans can’t name any GOP Presidential candidates for 2012. From what I can tell, there is only one person officially running for President, former New Mexico Governor, Gary Johnson. Johnson announced on April 21st, and is perhaps best known for supporting gay unions and legalizing marijuana.
- For the 2008 Presidential campaign, the media complained that there were too many GOP candidates in the race too early. Campaigns are expensive, so it makes sense to me to keep the campaigns more condensed in their duration.
- You are likely familiar with ads that pop up on the internet based on what you have searched for or websites you visited, but twice this week ads have popped up about two items I merely had a conversation with someone about.
- We went to Burger King last weekend, and I grumbled to my husband that they had put pickles on my hamburger when I asked them not to. Later that day when I was online back at home, Vlasic pickle ads were following me.
- At work a few days ago, a co-worker and I were talking about how cool the new Pocket Projectors
from 3M are and how much easier they would be for community presentations. At home that evening, ads for the 3M pocket projectors were on my computer. Until this morning, I had not electronically engaged this topic before.
- Gas prices are over $4/gallon, so President Obama formed a task force. Will this be the end of speculation?
- Glenn Beck called Mike Huckabee a progressive this week because he agrees with Michelle Obama’s campaign to reduce childhood obesity – a campaign which calls all of us to personal responsibility. The Governor has a great response on HuckPAC.

I think that the ads thing proves that it’s time to get away from the computers.
As for Beck vs. Gov. Huckabee … Glenn Beck’s claim on sanity is dubious at best. I don’t understand the vitriol poured out on Mrs. Obama for suggesting that kids should exercise and eat better.
Heck, the commandant of West Point has expressed concern that in a few years, we won’t be able to field an effective army because too much of our population will be too far out of shape.

As for Glenn Beck going after Mike Huckabee, he is off his rocker for calling him a progressive. It’s pretty clear that he hasn’t a clue what Huckabee really believes in.

How Glenn can attack Governor Huckabee just shows how far off the deep end Glenn has gone. Of course even Fox News threw the Governor under the bus during the 2008 campaign as too many of them (such as Hannity) were living in Gov. Romney’s back pocket.
That is very true and made me wonder how he could stomach being on the same payroll as the folks who were driving the bus.

Two thoughts: Governor Huckabee doesn’t hold anything against anybody; and Fox News was likely his best opportunity to have a public forum to get his name and platform to a greater number of people.
That is very true, Kerry. Huckabee is unique in several ways, but his ability to get along with his political enemies makes him stand out.
