Friday Flyer

  • When I left for work yesterday, our gas was $4.10/gallon.
  • When I came home from work yesterday, our gas was $4.15/gallon.
  • I have today off, and I will admit that Hannah and I have been watching the Royal Wedding. It is nice to see William and Kate genuinely happy. Something William’s parents never seemed to be.
  • We are having a break in our winter weather today. Our temps may reach 57 degrees today and a little spot of sunshine!
  • Speaking of temperatures, Hannah’s is finally back to normal this morning. I started this infection a week ago, and she developed it on Wednesday. We may be able to take in a little walk later and soak in some sunshine.
  • Back to the wedding … the British are famous for their hats, and there were some beautiful and bizarre ones at today’s wedding. One of the strangest I saw belonged to Princess Beatrice (daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson).  When I first caught a glimpse of her, I thought she was wearing a headband with elaborate reindeer antlers on it. Take a look for yourself:
  • I watched a reporter in Alabama interviewing a woman in the rubble of her home after the devastating tornadoes. The panic, sadness, and desperation in her voice were heart-wrenching. Her last statement before breaking into sobs: “I don’t know how to do this.”
  • I’ll have some more posts this weekend about oil and gas prices, and language disorders.

Make it a good day …

  1. The Brits do love their hats and fascinators. A fascinator is jewelery for the hair and the one that Beatrice is sporting misses every mark. Her sister also made a similar fashion faux pas. Phillip Treacy, London milliner was the designer for many of the guests at the Royal Wedding. I enjoyed every second of the Royal Wedding!

Hi Cat – I enjoyed the wedding as well. It was a pretty and happy diversion. Really enjoyed when they left the palace later in the day – just the two of them – driving Prince Charles’ 1969 Aston Martin.
