Not So Super Committee

Well, what a surprise, the Washington Super Committee, charged with coming up with a budget deal by this Wednesday is announcing today that they have failed. Some thought they would work to the final minute and come out with a last minute deal, but today’s announcement isn’t shocking since they all want to go home for the holiday.

The hype about the “automatic” cuts that will go into place later this week is overblown as well, as the cuts occur over the next 9 years (not automatically at midnight Thursday), which is plenty of time for Congress to find ways to dilute and erase the cuts completely.

Blather. That’s most of what comes out of Washington anymore, blather.

In other news:

  • Why is Michele Bachmann having a 4th meeting with Donald Trump?
  • Newt Gingrich’s past was passed over until he moved up in the polls, and now the dirt is rising to the top as well.
  • Who in the White House administration thought it was a good idea for Michelle Obama and Jill Biden to go to a Nascar race? Gee, they were booed, what a surprise.
It’s Monday and a short work week for me, so I better get going.

Boom or bust and they went bust. I’m not surprised.

Maybe the plan of Bachmann is to get Trump to fund her campaign in exchange for him being VP? or maybe Trump plans to run 3rd party and Bachmann wants VP?
