Michigan Goes Red

For a change, the State of Michigan has elected Republican Rick Snyder as Governor, and replaced Democrat Bart Stupak with Republican Dr. Dan Benishek in the US House of Representatives. Unfortunately voters in Michigan’s 15th Congressional District chose to send John Dingell back to Congress. I wish I still lived in Grand Rapids (in Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District), because it would be great to be able to vote for Justin Amash. Snyder Up, Bernero Down

The latest poll from Rasmussen Reports shows that it is very likely Michigan will have a Republican for our next Governor. Rick Snyder leads Virg Bernero 54% to 34%. Even if the Lansing Mayor managed to get every voter who said they were undecided (8%), and those voting for someone else (4%), he won’t close the gap. Hannah’s been learning about Samuel Morse this week in school. If I typed it correctly, today’s blog post should read “Friday Flyer” in Morse Code. Wednesday our gas prices went to $3.07/gallon. About 12 hours later it went back to $2.99/gallon. Apparently they thought the local market wasn’t going to bear the $3.07 price.
