Last night during President Obama’s speech, South Carolina Republican Representative Joe Wilson did something we have all done at some point in our lives: he engaged his mouth before he engaged his brain. Dr. Sanjay Gupta has decided to withdraw his name from consideration for the office of Surgeon General. He cited the desire to not be absent from the daily lives of his two young daughters (and number three due at any minute). Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D) is the latest selection by President Obama to fill the seat of the Director of Health and Human Services. I would assume that after several embarassing tax problems have caused earlier cabinet nominees to remove themselves from consideration, that Gov. Sebelius’ taxes are clean. Score one for the Obama administration. Yesterday it was reported that Citigroup was purchasing a $50 million luxury jet from France (12 people could fly in “comfort”). President Obama’s administration contacted Citigroup executives and told them to “fix this”. Today, Citigroup released a statement saying they have no intention of taking possession of any new aircraft.Actually now they are reducing their fleet from four jets and one helicopter down to two planes.
